| Anyone having problems after installing Norton Internet Security 2007? | | I recently went from Norton Internet Security 2006 to the 2007 version. Since then I have intemittant problems that I never had before which appear to me to be some kind of instability with Microsoft Internet Explorer and to a lesser extent XP. What happens is that all of a sudden the "open in a different window" function will quit working entirely or the new window will not have the top tool bar and sometimes it just gives a blank page that can not be closed and then even control alt delete does not behave properly. I have to completely close the browser and struggle to get end program to work. On rarer occasions I have had trouble with the XP file system. All this has happened since the installation with nothing like it before then. And of course getting in touch with Symmatec is almost impossible. | |

| | Norton Internet Security installation problems...need HELP! | | I've just purchased Norton Internet Security 2007 and cannot get it to install. Before I purchased the product, I downloaded the trialware. When my CDs (SystemWorks also) came in, I uninstalled the trialware (at least I thought I did) and installed SystemWorks Basic. Then when I tried to install Internet Security, it keeps giving me a message that says "LiveUpdate or Automatic LiveUpdate is running...please disable or wait until complete"...something to that effect. I've waited hours and I keep getting the same message. I've tried to disconnect it, but there is no option to do that since Internet Security is not yet installed. I did a search on Symantec's web site and it said to disable the LuCom~1.exe file from the TaskManager. Tried that, but since it's a system file..."Access Denied". I'm at my wits end. I do not want to spend another $40 to call a technician and have exhausted just about every idea I've come up with including "trying" to uninstall both products and start over...can't do that either because of LiveUpdate. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. | |
