| Reading The Da Vinci Code in Japanese | | It was a silly thought, but I had the urge to read The Da Vinci Code in Japanese. When I saw the book in a used bookstore in Osaka, Japan, I told myself that this would be an interesting challenge to prove my proficiency in Nihongo (or the japanese language). For sure, this book will take me a long time to master and even a bit inefficient as a learning technique. But it's going to be an achievement to be able to do so and that is enough motivation for me.

| | A beautiful Japanese garden | | Yesterday I visited a japanese garden close to my home. I hadn't been there before and it was a nice experience to walk around in the garden. It was beautiful and very peaceful. There were lots of water, bridges, statues and many other things, the garden was divided into different parts, and I especially liked the meditation garden. I was there during the day, and next time I would like to visit the garden at night when there are lots of candles everywhere. I think it must be very beautiful[em]blush[/em]Do you like to visit tourist attractions in your own country or in other countries? What was the last tourist attraction that you visited? Did you like it or did you get disappointed?

| | Okiku ningyo: a mysterious japanese doll. | | Ningyo is the name for a traditional doll in Japan. Word-for-word ningyo means "human shape". There is many dolls in Japanese temples. You don't throw a doll in Japan, but you offer your abandoned doll to a temple. Nice tradition, isn't it?
This one is in a temple in the island of Hokkaido. She was bought in 1918 by a young man for his sister Okiku aged two. It is a one foot long black haired pretty doll, wearing a kimono. A few months later, his sister died suddenly. The family placed the doll in the altar of the house and prayed for their daughter. They noticed... that the hair of the doll was growing!
They moved in 1938 and brought the doll to a temple. The doll's hair is still growing and is cut once a year in a special ceremony.
After an analyze, the doll's hair are human hair.
People think that the girl's soul is in this doll. Since twenty years, this doll is smiling.
There is a song untitled Okiku Ningyo by the Japanese thrash metal band Sabbat. It is traduced by "Okiku, doll of the devil".

| | Is it annoying for japanese to be engaged in the s ex industry? | | Traditionally speaking,Japanese is much s ex ually permissive than the Chinese who insist the sense of chastity. In the Edo period, ladies in Japan felt nothing strange even if washing their bodies in the street with lots of passengers, while now housewives still consider it as "acceptable" for their husband to patronize the s ex stores. All these are unbelievable for people in other nations.
Is it annoying for Japanese to be engaged in the s ex industry? Talk about your idea? | |
